International Pickle Week

International Pickle week is actually longer than a week to incorporate two weekends of festivities according to the Mt Olive Pickle Company site. Some of the fun facts about pickles that you can find at this site include; that the pickle got it's name from the mispronunciation of William Beukelz’s name in the 1300s, Shakespeare coined the phrase "in a pickle" and there are at least 36 different kinds of pickles. Get your group into a pickle this week with some fun pickle activities.

Activities: 

Send a pickle card to your online group members to invite them to the activities. 

Have a pickle party and serve several recipes created by the group and some varieties of store bought pickles. Serve hotdogs, don't forget the pickle relish. Share fun pickle facts and ask everyone to wear something green. 

Have a cooking group to make pickles. Try the microwave pickle recipe that comes with the card above.
